Connecting a CAT to a
Kenwood TKR-750 or a TKR-850 Repeater.


Connecting a CAT controller to a Kenwood TKR-750 or TKR-850 Repeater can be accomplished easily by following these two steps.

Step 1
Build an interconnect cable with two Male DB25 connectors on both ends of a 6-wire conductor cable. Connect the pins as follows: (Note: a pre-built cable is available for purchase under CAT part number CA-750).

The COR will be active high so dipswitch #1 should be set to the OFF position.


Step 2
Program the TKR-750 repeater using the configuration software supplied with the repeater.

To set the repeater's AUX Input/Output 5 accessory connector pin #24 as a COR output and the AUX Input/Output 6 accessory pin #25 as a TOR output click on (EDIT). From the drop down box click on (Function Port). Set the ports as shown in the table.

To disable the repeater's internal timers click on (EDIT). From the drop down box click on (Optional Features). Set the Repeater/EXT-PTT timeout timer to (OFF) and the Repeater Hold Time to (OFF).
