Programming the Regency RH-606 radio

Regency RH-606 programming instructions. 3/11/99 sjc

Programming:

1. Open top of radio and locate the microprocessor (40 pin IC). 
Approximately 1/2 inch in front of microprocessor is a cut jumper labeled J-401.

2. Short J-401 and turn the radio on.

Note:  I soldered thin wires to this jumper and put a small normally open 
momentary push button switch through the side of the case near the rear so 
I can reporgram it later without re-opening the case.  Just push switch 
while turning the radio on and...

3. Press the "PROG/PRI" key then the "10" key. The display will go blank.

Programming note:  Use the "10" key any time you need to enter a 0.

Simplex:

1. Enter the 6 digit frequency followed by 00 ("10" key twice).
2. Enter the 2 digit CTCSS code (affects both TX and RX).
3. Press the "Enter" key, then the channel number.
4. In a few seconds the display will flash then go blank.
5. Repeat for the next desired channel if necessary.

Repeater Splits:

1. Enter the 6 digit receive frequency followed by  EIGHT ZEROS (ZERO is the "10" key).
2. Enter the 2 digit CTCSS code for receive.
3. Enter the 2 digit CTCSS code for transmit.
4. Enter the 6 digit frequency for the transmit frequency and 
5. Press the "Enter" key, then the channel number.
6. In a few seconds the display will flash then go blank.
7. Repeat for the next desired channel if necessary.

Receive only frequencies:

1. Enter the 6 digit receive frequency followed by 04 (ZERO is the "10" key).
2. Enter the 2 digit receive CTCSS code (or 00 for no receive tone).
3. The "Enter" key, then the channel number.
4. In a few seconds the display will flash then go blank.
5. Repeat for the next desired channel if necessary.
